The pilot phase of the “RE-box” project was completed end of 2014 on a very positive balance. The 4 collection stations installed in the parking lots of supermarkets are very prized since October 2013. The plastic amounts collected have been increasing month by month. It increased from 300 kg in November 2013 to 760 kg in December 2014. The disruptive elements are minimal. Each of the three fractions (“films & plastic bags”, “trays & blisters” and “pots & cups” ) represents approximately one third of the total weight collected.
The outcome of these good results is the installation of 7 additional stations in following supermarkets:
There were already RE-boxes in Cora in Foetz, Delhaize in Bertrange, Match in Capellen and Pall Center in Oberpallen.
Are accepted in the RE-box:
films & plastic bags – trays & blisters – pots & cups
In all the 11 stations, textiles are no longer accepted. Indeed, by agreement with the operator of textiles, Valorlux will focus on its core business: packaging.
As in the previous stations, these new RE-boxes will be equipped with solar panels to allow an ecological lighting at night.
